About

I’ve lived in south Hillsborough county since 1980. I’ve owned animals all my life and formerly ran a pet sitting service. I found pet sitting was often isolating and I missed interacting with people. Pet sitting involves trust, compassion, time management skills and organization. The idea of becoming a senior move manager and helping seniors transition to a smaller home, evolved from a long-term pet sitting client who needed to downsize to an assisted living facility. There was no family close by and they asked me to help them pack and downsize their home. Cherished possessions told a story of work, kids, grandkids, extensive world travels and community service projects. It was a daunting task, but oh, what a sense of accomplishment and well-being I had when finished.

I felt a calling to expand my services to others who may find themselves in the same difficult position. Several years ago, I had to downsize my own Mom from her large home filled with family heirlooms to one room in a memory care unit. I knew Mother would be more comfortable surrounded by her pretty things, but it was very hard deciding what to keep, what to sell, what to donate.

As a military brat who moved often, I learned early the art of packing fragile items and parting with cherished possessions. We were always on hand the day the packers and movers came. It was exciting but sad too. I’ve felt these emotions often so I understand how stressful a move can be. I come with many years of firsthand experience in moving, packing, planning and compassion.

Sunshine Senior Movers carries insurance for your peace of mind. I also have many referrals and references, both personal and business related, that I will gladly share. I can pass a level 2 background check. All employees are background checked and work under my personal supervision.
